Machine Head Frontman Will Undergo Emergency Surgery

Machine Head are being forced to sit out a few dates on their current tour with Dethklok, All That Remains and the Black Dahlia Murder so that Robb Flynn can undergo emergency hernia surgery.

Flynn will undergo surgery on Wednesday, November 14 in Minneapolis before going home to California to recover, rest and recuperate. The band is scheduled to rejoin the tour in Portland, Oregon on November 24.

Machine Head extends its regrets to fans, the other bands, and the other crews for having to leave the tour prematurely. A statement from Flynn on blabbermouth.net:
I've been toughing out an inguinal hernia below my waistline since June of last year, and a few months ago got a second hernia in my nuts. What basically happens is my guts drop into my nuts, and it looks like I have a third testicle (man, I can hear the jokes already!) It hasn't been that painful, and I've gone to the doctor a few times to take care of it, but he said after surgery I probably couldn't sing for a few weeks, and since that wasn't going to happen, I scheduled it for January when I had a break.
Unfortunately, after the last few shows, my guts have been very swollen and hard to push back in. Yesterday, the pain was excruciating and I went to the emergency room last night. They said that I need surgery.
"I will be doing my damnedest to rejoin the tour in a couple weeks.

"Thanks to all the fans, bands, and crew for understanding. I'm determined to see you all soon and finish what has been a great freakin' tour!
Get well Robb, and we all have our fingers crossed you will make the Austin date, December 1st at Stubb's!

After a long weekend of drinking and celebrating the anniversary of my Mom's bar turning 20, that's right my Momma owns a bar, I am still a little groggy. Lamb of God Officially out of Dethklok tour

The ongoing saga of Randy Blythe and Lamb of God hits home with the latest announcement from their publicist Adrenaline PR. They released the following statement:

"Due to the continued incarceration of LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe in the Czech Republic, the band's co-headline tour with DETHKLOK scheduled to begin August 1 in Seattle has been canceled. LAMB OF GOD regrets the decision but the uncertainty of Randy's release makes it impossible to carry on with the tour. Upon Randy's release, it is the band's intention to rebook a tour in the fall and at this time the band fully intends to participate in the Mayhem Cruise in December.

"LAMB OF GOD wishes to thank DETHKLOK, Adult Swim and GOJIRA for their support and patience as well as all of the promoters who had dates on the tour. Last but certainly not least, the band thanks all of the fans who bought tickets for the tour and who have been supportive of Randy and the band over the last month that Randy has been held in Prague. Without the fans, there is no LAMB OF GOD."
