This week we run the Best Metal of 2016. I made a list of album here on the blog, but the time has come to play a bunch and include a lot of songs that i may not have listed on my favorites, but what you guys wanted to hear as part of the show. There were dozens of great records out this year from some of the biggest names like Anthrax, Testament, Metallica, yet some of the best stuff came from little to unknown bands, which is why I do this thing, to bring introduce you to new tunes you might not even know about. I wanted to give you a list in written form, but don't think they need much explanation. Not like it really matters at this point, you have either checked out the records or you haven't so not sure why a blurb from me would influence you more than just giving a song a listen. So this list will not make you flip through pages, it won't drive clicks or keep you on the page for a long time scrolling or reading, just a list of my favorites from the year!

Victory Records Releases Holiday Sweaters

So Victory Records releases music, but they also have a huge backend store of merchandise for their bands that ranges from wristbands to yarmulkes, and now they are bridging metal and Christmas in a way not seen before with the addition of new sweaters to their merch store...so far the best one is The Bunny The Bear, because I think that is a bear penis showing, but can't be particularly sure of that one.

This is kind of brilliant and fun, screwing with people and metal audiences in a strange eclectic way works on many levels for me honestly. So if you want to stuff you stocking with some unique stuff, they are on $20 at their online store

Earache Records Selling Almost 2k Songs for $160

So just when you thought that your music on the cloud might get you sued, Earache Records has decided to try and make a giant leap all the way into 1999, with the release of 1900 songs on one USB drive for the low price of around $160 american cash. I know it seems counter productive for a label to actually want you to buy their music, but when you consider if you bought these songs individually at $.99 it would cost you over $2k, this is quite a deal.

I know it makes more sense to sue the piss out of your audience than create cool ways for them to get exclusive deals on your music, but why not try all avenues, right?
