We talk about carrying on in the absence of their fearless leader, what it took to make the decisions about going forward and whether it’s “too soon” for Godless to joke about the death of a legend.

Chuck and Godless also discuss the “controversy” of racist and homophobic lyrics by Demoniac, an early incarnation of Dragonforce. Should bands have to own the things they’ve said in the past? Should bands be apologetic about insensitivity that may not be part of their present day ethos?

GWAR Frontman's New PETA2 Video

In this brand new video, Oderus Urungus makes an announcement for PETA2. This is definitely self explanatory. It is pretty disgusting, but mainly due to the animal abuse, not the giant space penis. Admittedly, I laughed my ass off, and that, at least in part, is the idea, to make it memorable for people who are fans of GWAR, but to help bring attention to the cause. It is a good watch no matter which side of the fence you fall on.

GWAR Guitarist Cory Smoot (aka FLATTUS MAXIMUS) Found Dead

GWAR frontman Dave Brockie (a.k.a. Oderus Urungus) has released the following statement to MetalSucks:

"It is with a sense of profound loss and tragedy that the members of GWAR must announce the passing of their longtime guitarist and beloved friend Cory Smoot, also known to thousands of metal fans worldwide as Flattus Maximus. Cory was found deceased this morning as the band prepared for a border crossing. There is no word as to the cause of death and the members of GWAR are completely shocked and devastated that this has occurred.

"At this point, there is no word on arrangements and the disposition of the remainder of GWAR's current North American tour, nor are there any details regarding long-term plans. "At this point, we are just dealing with the loss of our dear friend and brother, one of the most talented guitar players in metal today. "We ask that our fans and the media be respectful of our request for privacy for those that have suffered this terrible loss.

A full statement will be coming in the next day or so. In the meantime, please give your thoughts and your prayers to Cory, his family, and all the people that love him."

Right Wing Ousts Oderus from Fox News

According to Mxdwn.com, GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus — who last year was named the official "Interplanetary Correspondent" for the "Red Eye" talk show on the Fox News channel — is no longer able to appear on the program because of negative backlash from Sarah Palin Supporters.

A mainstay of GWARs Live performance for nearly two decades has been the beheading and disembowelment of politicians, Bush, Obama, Regan and most recently Sarah Palin. Apparently her constituents and supporters caught wind of the nightly slaying (guessing they don't go to GWAR shows very often). Political blogs and web sites have been inundated with comments regarding Palin's likeness being slain nightly.

Apparently, Urungus sat down with "Red Eye" host Greg Gutfeld on a recent trip to New York and learned he was no longer invited back to the show because of the band's treatment of the rubber Palin. Fox apparently wasn't bothered by the fake mutilations of other figureheads until Palin's likeness was attacked.

Writing on his Twitter page, Urungus said:

Maybe Oderus will need to go destroy some Liberal minds on MSNBC instead.
