Chuck and Godless Recruited for Metalsucks Podcast

I have been a little lacking in the blog area the past few weeks, and it has mainly been due to getting my crap together for all kinds of new stuff coming up in the metal world. I have been constantly working to expand my empire of metal, and slowly but surely it is coming along nicely. 

I am about to start writing for Metal Injection, which gives me an outlet to do music reviews to start, and hopefully someday get more commentary and stuff rolling, but announced today, our little show Visions From the Darkside will transform itself into the METAL SUCKS PODCAST! That's right, the biggest metal website on the planet has taken a love to all things snarky and seen fit to add Me and Godless to their arsenal of stupidity!

We even had a few quotes:

So kiss my ass now, because my head is getting HUGE! Actually, it humbles me to have been selected and since we are the first, i hope we can do those dudes at the Metal Mansion right...wish us luck, and tune in Monday the 20th to hear the first one!

Incredibly stupid week last week. Lots of good things happening, mixed with some terrible news and
problems in my personal life. So I have not one second that I can relish in my accomplishments, before I turn around and my house is flooded from my busted ass water heater. Pretty stellar I tell you. Either way, I have listened to and added some good stuff this week, follow along at home.

Static X Cancel Remaining Tour Dates

With much regret, Static-X has been forced to pull off the remaining dates of their 2012 Tour, including their date at the Dirty Dog Bar on October 20th. Wayne Static must return to Los Angeles and prepare for some medical procedures to remedy problems that have been hampering his performance. Wayne relays his personal apologies:

"I'm so sorry to all my fans but I cant give you the 1000% you deserve from Static-X every night right now. Evil disco will continue in 2013. Just wait until you see whats next!!!"

Ill Nino and Emmure are continuing on with the tour, so tickets are still available for those scheduled dates.

Suffocation Parts Ways With Drummer, Maybe?

Has Suffocation parted ways with drummer Mike Smith? At this point nothing has been confirmed by Suffocation, although they did play a couple of recent dates with their old drummer Dave Culross. That of course is not the entire story, in a cryptic message left on Smiths facebook page he wrote:

There are not many things related to the suffocation brand I can honestly say brings me sadness. Except, the lack of pride that exists within those who have the “right” to claim the name as their own. 

This battle has been one that to any focused being, should make obvious sense but has evaded some for 2 decades. Within any foundation the weakest link will always cause all structure to crumble. 

The one fact that keeps me at peace is the fact that anyone who has ever seen or spoken to me regarding Suffocation and the industry as a whole, has always left with an understanding of the level of focus and pride that I personally hold for myself, the brand that is Suffocation and the genre we influence and helped create.As I´ve always said, if you are willing to put your time and soul towards anything at Be willing to speak truths, fight and bleed for it if need be.

I can't tell what this means, and with no statement from the band or label, we will have to wait and see what comes out the next few days. So far a simple tweet from the bands official twitter that they are not breaking up.

MORBID ANGEL New Album Gets Remixed

When you spray purfume on a pile of crap, it smells like crap and roses...I think you get the idea with the new 'remix' album from Morbid Angel. Illud Divinum Insanus is one of the worst albums of 2011 and doing techno remixes probably isn't going to help it much...
